Résumé : |
"This collection, edited by a Young writer who is also a teacher, aims to offer as wide a variety of moods and methods of writing as is consistent with a high literary standard. All the stories, very few of which have appeared in any previous anthology, were first published after the First World War, and many after the Second; most of the greatest British and American writers of the period are represented, together with some younger and less familiar.
Although each of the stories was written for aults, they have been selected as likely to be immediately entertaining to adolescents. Each is accompanied by a few notes on the author and on those of his works by which he is best approached and also by brief questions and comments on the story itself, guiding the reader towards a mature critical response.
"The choice of stories is excellent". The Times Educational Supplement." (quatrième de couverture) |
